Waterville Golf Links

Waterville Golf Links

Set at the edge of the Ring of Kerry where the River Inny meets the wild Atlantic, Waterville Golf Links is one of Ireland’s crown jewels. With sweeping views of Ballinskelligs Bay and the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks mountains, Waterville is as breathtaking as it is demanding. Golf here feels like playing on the edge of the world, where the land, sea, and sky collide in dramatic fashion.

The layout flows seamlessly with the natural dunes, offering a blend of beauty and challenge. The front nine eases you into the rhythm of links golf, but the back nine is where Waterville achieves greatness. From the par-3 12th, framed by towering dunes, to the par-5 18th that sweeps home along the bay, every hole is unforgettable. The 17th, aptly named “Mulcahy’s Peak,” offers one of the most iconic views in Irish golf.

Waterville has long drawn champions, from Payne Stewart—whose statue stands proudly near the clubhouse—to modern legends who make the pilgrimage to this remote gem. It is a course that inspires reverence, blending natural drama with pure golfing excellence.

At Cypress & Salt, we create Waterville journeys that capture the spirit of the course and its surroundings. From private coastal villas to curated boat excursions on the bay, we ensure your time in this magical corner of Ireland is as remarkable beyond the links as it is within them.
