The Links at Spanish Bay
The Links at Spanish Bay brings a taste of Scotland to California’s coast. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., Tom Watson, and Sandy Tatum, the course opened in 1987 and winds through dunes, natural wetlands, and oceanfront stretches along 17-Mile Drive.
Its true links character — firm fairways, pot bunkers, and windswept dunes — creates a course that is as strategic as it is scenic. Evening bagpipers stroll the course at sunset, evoking the traditions of St. Andrews. While more forgiving than Pebble or Spyglass, Spanish Bay is a joy to play, offering coastal views on nearly every hole.
Cypress & Salt curates Spanish Bay golf escapes with luxury accommodations at The Inn or The Lodge, curated dining with wine pairings, spa indulgence, and private cultural tours. Spanish Bay is both golf and ambiance, wrapped in California luxury.
