Kingsbarns Golf Links | Fife

Just a short drive from St Andrews, Kingsbarns Golf Links is one of the most celebrated modern courses in the world. Designed by Kyle Phillips and opened in 2000, it debuted in the world’s Top 100 and continues to rank among the finest seaside layouts anywhere. Its motto, “Embracing the Sea,” is no exaggeration—every hole offers sweeping views of the North Sea, with dramatic carries, natural undulations, and greens that flow seamlessly into the landscape.

Though a relative newcomer compared to Scotland’s ancient links, Kingsbarns has already earned championship pedigree as co-host of the Alfred Dunhill Links alongside Carnoustie and the Old Course. Highlights include the par-5 12th, where the green clings to the edge of the surf, and the par-3 15th, a postcard-perfect hole played directly over the waves. The closing 18th, a long uphill par 4 over a natural “Condi” burn, is as exacting as it is unforgettable.

Paired with its welcoming clubhouse and proximity to the historic town of St Andrews, Kingsbarns is the kind of course golfers play once and immediately dream of returning to. It is modern links golf at its most inspired—challenging, photogenic, and undeniably world-class.
