Royal Portrush Golf Club | Dunluce Links

Royal Portrush Golf Club | Dunluce Links

Royal Portrush is the jewel of Northern Ireland’s north coast, a course of championship pedigree and breathtaking beauty. The only club on the island to have hosted The Open Championship (1951, 2019, and returning in 2025), Portrush is a test of power, precision, and imagination set against the rugged cliffs of the Causeway Coast.

Originally designed by Harry Colt, the Dunluce Links is a true masterpiece. Its rolling fairways, deep bunkers, and natural contours demand strategy on every shot. Few holes in golf are as iconic as the par-3 16th, “Calamity Corner,” played over a yawning chasm to a plateau green. The reimagined 7th and 8th holes, introduced for the 2019 Open, have only enhanced the course’s grandeur.

Portrush combines the charm of traditional links with the challenge of modern championship golf. Whether in calm sunshine or battling coastal winds, each round leaves an indelible impression.

At Cypress & Salt, we craft Royal Portrush experiences that go beyond the tee sheet. From luxury stays at coastal resorts to curated excursions along the Giant’s Causeway and whiskey tastings at Bushmills Distillery, we ensure your Portrush journey captures the full essence of Northern Ireland.
